The series uses material from the Great Schools of Dune trilogy by Brian Herbert and Kevin J
Two Harkonnen sisters fight against forces that threaten the future of humanity and establish a mythical sect called the Bene Gesserit. About all.. Anderson. A prequel to the original Dune, it tells the story of how the Brotherhood of Roszak evolved into the Bene Gesserit.
So here it is
The incident of Valya Harkonnen using the voice of 'Mentats of Dune' connects the development of the Sisterhood, the Mentats, the Navigators, and the Suk Doctors in all three books.. AniMat’s Crazy Cartoon Cast: The New Normal (2020) mentions this. I wanted to be brief and to the point, but I was forced to expand my thoughts. There was a time when writers knew how to weave exposition into the narrative without being forced and plot-driven.
They carry the story but are forgettable
I get that it’s the first episode, but they have to spell everything out like they’re not familiar with the genre. Watson (Valya), Mark Strong (Emperor), Travis Fimmel (Hart), and Sarah-Sophie Busnina (Princess) give good performances. I feel like the show has gotten better. The rest of the characters lost interest for me.
I guess we’ll see how it develops
It seemed like it was part of an indivisible whole. I’m waiting for the full season before consuming any more episodes. They did a fantastic job with the visuals. The CGI is top notch, the costumes are perfect, and the tone of Villeneuve’s vision has been maintained and expanded.
