The marriage is threatened when the husband’s first love returns to town. The basic problem with this year’s PÖLP is that very few classic films were screened, far fewer than planned for PÖLP 2023. As an audience member, I have been shattered by the preponderance of new films by novices who play with concepts and techniques, but whose excellent covers contain few revealing and refreshing songs.
